Our Volunteer Bat Survey

Between 2019 and 2022, Bats in Churches ran an ambitious citizen science project to help us better understand how bats are using churches across England.

Working alongside church communities and bat groups, our incredible volunteers surveyed 753 churches across England for the National Bats in Churches Survey and Church Bat Detectives.

The survey has now concluded and we will publish the full findings on this page by the end of 2023
