The Church
Wellingham church is tucked away down winding, single track roads south of Fakenham.
The church is small and peaceful, with plain pews and a barrel vaulted roof.
Between the nave and the chancel is one of the best rood screens in the country. The screen is incredibly well preserved, painted with the usual saints, but on a background of detailed landscapes, featuring castles, churches, flying birds, hunters and their dogs and even a tiny hare.
Our Work
The church currently has a very small number of bats but we are keeping an eye on the church to see if there is any potential damage to the rood screen.
We have also be offered help and cleaning advice through our cleaning workshops.
